Dear Friend,

Let's celebrate one of our rising stars in kindergarten, Sriani Suwandee. She's truly a ray of sunshine!

Consider Sriani’s wonderful story.

When she arrived at camp last summer, she spoke English pretty well but struggled to read and was not able to write her name. However, by the end of Kindergarten, she was reading fluently and above grade-level!

During story time, Sriani came to understand what the story was about despite her language barrier. She also can add and subtract fluently.

As a matter of fact, this brilliant young girl now speaks five languages — Including her native kaho tribal dialect, a Montagnard language.

In addition to academics, Sriani has also become a social butterfly and a good friend to all. While she started off the year extremely shy, she does not know a stranger here at Brookstone—waving to me and saying “Hi Mr. Murray!” as she walks by my office everyday on her way to recess.

We are so proud of the ways she always strives to do her best and work hard in school.
