By God’s grace and our faithful donors support, we are coming off one of our best years here at Brookstone.
Pease take a moment to reflect on God’s goodness with a few of the praises from the 2023-24 school year listed below:

Hired a number of amazing new faculty and staff who did a wonderful job with our students this school year—expanding our Upper School (grades 5-8) to the third floor of the church complete with lockers.

Accredited by the Southern Association of Independent Schools (SAIS) for the first time in our 23-year history with 24 commendations.

Chosen by the Charlotte Touchdown Club to be their lead charity of support for the next three years, opening many new relationships and opportunities.

Beginning our new Junior Kindergarten program this August 2024

Starting a new bus service that will provide 2 buses/10 stops for 100 students coming from North, East, and West Charlotte starting in August 2024.

Providing medical benefits for our faculty and staff for the first time starting this Summer 2024.

Launching multiple meals programs for our students in the 2024-25 school year.
In addition to this exciting news, one of our Class of 2024 graduates—Bosco Nzabara-- will be attending Woodberry Forest next year (one of the top boys’ boarding schools in the country).
Reflect on the truths of Psalm 139:13-16 as you read Bosco’s story:
“For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made…Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them."
15 years ago, Bosco was born in a refugee camp in Uganda. His mom was a survivor of the Rwandan genocide and remarried Bosco's dad (also Bosco) after fleeing Rwanda. They were in the Congo for a while and then the refugee camp in Uganda.
Bosco arrived in Charlotte in 2016, with his mom. They met Bosco’s future guardian, Dr. Jonathan Wilson through Project 658 and Christ Central Church. Bosco entered the 3rd grade upon arrival in Charlotte and did not speak English. He repeated his 3rd grade year and attended one more year before moving to The Nest for 5th grade.
Bosco came to Brookstone in the 6th grade, and while academics were a challenge, Bosco developed a strong work ethic. He was also a part of our first-ever Upper School Boys Soccer Team—leading us to a 5-4 record as our top scorer.
Bosco had to overcome many challenges during his time here, including taking public transportation to school by himself as a 7th grader and most of his 8th grade year. Just recently, he was able to go live with his oldest brother James--who moved to Charlotte after graduating from the University of California, Riverside.
Through the support of his family, teachers, guardian, and lunch buddy Chris Horne, Bosco will be attending Woodberry Forest this coming fall, receiving a 4-year scholarship worth $260,000!
It has been such a blessing to see God’s amazing grace in Bosco’s life and for all of us to be a part of his unfolding story.
